| Mike Felice: detective/criminal. He’s sitting on a million bucks. Money he heisted a long time ago in a vain attempt to inject life into his drab existence. But that was the past... And...the past always has a knack of catching up. Always. Four years on and police internal investigators have caught the scent of the stolen money. They know Mike is corrupt...they just need to rattle his cage until he slips up. But Mike knows he’s being watched. He knows he needs to stay calm until the investigation cools down. When a big murder case is thrown his way, Mike has an opportunity to earn the kudos he needs to keep the investigators off his back...provided he can solve it swiftly. Trouble is, the case isn’t open-and-shut and Mike finds himself working frantically to solve a murder investigation that leads him to the heart of a corrupt corporate underworld where murder and embezzlement are the stock-in-trade. And the closer he edges towards closing the case, the more he risks being sprung for the stolen millions he has kept under wraps. As the body count rises, Mike feels the heat from the very top of the police hierarchy. All eyes are on him – a wrong move could expose his dark past and sink him. Just when he thinks he can wash his hands of his crooked past, another lucrative opportunity rears its ugly head and once again Mike is faced with a very, very tough decision. Last Decent Man is the sequel to Anthony’s 2005 debut novel, The Deception. |
READER RESPONSES - REVIEWS The second Felice novel had me riveted from the first page...this was a cracker! I thoroughly enjoyed it. I read it, cover to cover in three days because I couldn't put it down. The first one was great, but I loved this even more than The Deception! KM Anthony Santoro has really captured Melbourne in this book. Definitely a great read. There's a film to be made out of this, fure sure. GB I was hooked from the first chapter...the action really pulled me in. GG Great story telling! JM | |
